Construction

Construction Fibre de Verre
Coque Quillard
Finition Gelcoat finition

Built in 1977 and launched in 1983. The seller reports the original owner spent 6 years on the interior custom joinery.

The keel design is a long fin with cutaway forefoot rounding to a skeg hung rudder. Canoe stern, boom gallow, cutter rigged (stays'l equipment removed and in storage).

The deep keel is integral to the design of the hull. Reports are that Miller Marine poured 6200 LBS of molten lead into the keels for ballast.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

Stepping down the companionway ladder into the pilothouse there is a quarterberth immediately to starboard extending aft under the cockpit. To port is a booth-style salon table. Ahead on the starboard is the helm with nav instruments. The windows in this compartment are covered with blinds. Forward and down two steps is the galley to port -- very nicely laid out with a two- burner propane range. The counters, fixtures and wood work are very attractive. To starboard from the galley is a sitting area that doubles as a single berth. Storage is everywhere. Ahead of the galley on port is the head with manual toilet. There is no shower however there is potential to create one fairly easy. There is a reverse osmosis system plumbed to shore water (not seawater...). So when moored with a fresh water connection, there's clean, filtered water available with a spigot at the galley sink. Water capacity is 25 gallons, with room to add more tanks (already plumbed with selector valves under the galley sink). The forward section of the bow is a "V" Berth cabin with single seat, big hatch overhead and again very nice woodwork.

Commentaires du Broker

The Jason 35 is featured in the book “Best Boats to Build or Buy” by Ferenc Mate, and was designed by Ted Brewer for experienced owners who wanted a seaworthy, fast, maneuverable blue water cruiser. As a result, this vessel has many features that make it safer at sea, easier to handle (with bow thruster!) and more comfortable.

This boat was built as the "Pilothouse" version. The seller reports it was an owner-finished boat when built in 1977 but not finished and launched until 1983. Whoever that owner was who finished the interior certainly had some strong woodworker / carpenter skills! The interior is very attractively finished in several types of wood and with a headliner of strips of wood commonly referred to as "Captains Cabin".

Kept for the last 25 years in fresh water.
