This is where we publish our boat related stories and articles, which range from world circumnavigation to rescue missions, humour and much, much more. So make yourself a coffee and settle yourself down to a good read.
There have been some sights this week at the Boatshed stand but the one that stands out are the Australian sailing fans rubbing shoulders with the local constabulary (and no-one was drinking officer...honest!)
Southampton Boat Show dawned bright and hot today (Saturday) with environmental campaigns at the forefront of everybody’s mind.
The Southampton Boatshow is open for business and the Boatshed stand is buzzing. Our illustrious MD Neil Chapman was quick off the blocks with an interview for Gulf Radio and The Portsmouth News while the extended team of brokers, willing volunteers and friends were soon pressed into action by the groups of visitors wanting to learn for themselves about the Boatshed system.
The Southampton Boatshow in the UK is approaching and Boatshed.com expects record attendance at this years famous "Fizz @ Five" on the stand.
The Boatshed PR machine has been in full force and a few days ago, the team from the Hamble office managed to scare a journalist into writing a feature in Metro (a local UK newspaper delivered from Bath to Edinburgh via London and Manchester).
The team from Boatshed Plymouth has pledged their support to Colin Merry and Martin Hayne as they set out to cross the channel in a 22’ Fox Terrier to raise money for the cancer ward at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
Steve from Boatshed Falmouth competed at the B14 world championships in July. The B14 is a high speed adrenalin dinghy, 14 feet long, 62kg hull and carries 500 square feet of sail down wind.
The Boatshed Hamble RIB (and Skipper Peter Delbridge) were on hand today to welcome home quadriplegic sailor, Geoff Holt from his record-breaking voyage around Great Britain. The RIB was put into service as the press boat making sure that the photographers and journalists were as close to the action as possible. Peter Delbridge skillfully manoeuvred the RIB so that the media were in exactly the right position to capture Geoff as he crossed the finishing line and the resulting shot was soon beamed to newspapers around the world.
The brief was simple.......
It’s that time of year again as September draws in the International Southampton Boatshow is gearing up for another year!
If you were one of the many customers that called the Boatshed Norfolk and Suffolk office at the end of July you may well have spoken to Gary and Will whilst they were out boating and flying the Boatshed flag at a four day seaside extravaganza!
And this was amply proven during a recent excursion to Cowes to watch the P1 Powerboat racing in the company of the guys from Boatshed Hamble, Boatshed Cowes and Boatshed Poole. Time and time again I realised that the reason the Boatshed business works is because each and every one of the team members care passionately about the boats they are selling, the customers they have and the accuracy, attention to detail and all round service that they deliver. But I'm getting ahead of myself just slightly....
Free, Free, Free, Free, Free tickets to Southampton Boat Show
The RNLI launches more than 20 lifeboats a day and as Boatshed is part of the RNLI Ambassador scheme, we thought you might like to keep up to date with what's happening around our coastline.
Boatshed Barcelona has on its books a really classic boat (Classic Ocean Cruiser) and the owner had been gently hinting that she wanted us to go out on the open water together so I could see her in all her glory (the boat that is, rather than the owner!)
Boatshed has today announced the first of their Preferred Partners – drum roll please……..Made to Measure Fenders.
Do you ever wonder how your pride and joy gets moved round the world when you pay a shipping company to move it?
By any means possible, make an appointment to see your local Boatshed this weekend. He did.......
Boatshed Cowes, the centre of world sailing has landed, and is being run by the highly-trained, efficient and frankly quite regimental Frank Gelder (but in the nicest possible way).
